Links within email not working

Whenever I click on a link within an email a new web page opens with the title search.searchassist.com. For example I have been sent a link as we are in the process of buying a new kitchen but cannot get the link to work. How can I stop it automatically defaulting to the search.searchassist.com

Could be due to malware. Download the free version of Malwarebytes and run it to see if it finds anything and sorts it.

SearchAssistant is malware it is often difficult too remove. Malwarebytes is a good start but you may want to google the various methods available if MB does not succeed

Oops just realised it's Apple not Windows. Apologies.

I suggest Malwarebytes too.

Try copying the link and open a new tab on the browser, then paste the link on the search bar. Sometimes URL redirects to other links when you open it. So, try pasting it to a new tab and see if it works on you.

Try to fix it with a recovery software.
