I'm currently trying to build a case against Samsung for the lack of Samsung Pay on the Gear s2 (in the UK). Without doubt their marketing at the time on the UK launch leaned heavily on Samung Pay becoming available eventually.. and at least the device being compatible. I would like to build up my collateral of "evidence".
I note there was a techadvisor article before launch which said Samsung Pay "will also be supported on the Gear S2 from November. Samsung has not yet confirmed Pay's UK release date, although the service will go live in the US on 28 September and in the UK in the "near future".
Does anyone know if the "near future" came from a direct Samsung quote. If so could you provide details.
I encourage anyone else who bought an s2 at launch to follow my action. Samsung has treated customers appallingly
Thanks for this. They problem is there is no Samsung quote attributed there and whilst I'm sure the author of that article and others probably did have communication from Samsung its not revealed in the article. I do have a URL of a pre launch event in the UK where Samung Pay was showed off but looking to get further articles. Thanks

A case for what - what is it that you are trying to achieve? If you are after a refund you will need to demonstrate evidence that the Gear S2 was 'not as described' at the time of purchase. Evidence would need to be in the form of an advertisement which mentioned that the device was Samsung Pay compatible, or would become compatible in the future.
If you can produce that evidence, you would be able to claim that you relied on this information when making the decision to purchase the device.
