Laptop damaged during the repair

I have taken my laptop for loose charging port repair and after that repair I was told " found burnt chip on logic board". Laptop was fully functioning, charged and I even provided charger but it was not checked on submission for repair so company claims it was untestable therefore not liable and responsible for any damage to it. Untestable - clearly by stores decision as it was available for testing but clearly it was to avoid and manipulate T&C. Having read for 2 months about it is likely that charging port was replaced incorrectly and blew chip on logic board. Any experts what can cause chip to burn? Or what else to do?

It's unlikely that you will be able to prove anything.

You could take it elsewhere and ask if they can quote for a repair of the burnt chip. Or have a go yourself, here's a how to guide click here

I guess it depends on WHICH chip is burned out. Different chips have different functions. Example, if the burned chip is associated with the power supply and charging circuits then it is possible that the OP's suspicion is possible.
