Virgin Media lost channels ...

Anyone else see this as a problem?

I don't take any premium channels so losing what I can receive in the bedroom for free, but not in the living room without having a free view line put in is a major problem for me.

Unfortunately a bit of a dispute between Virgin and freeview is causing the problem.

indications are that it will need to be sorted and sorted soon.

I only get the freeview channels with Virgin and to tell the truth they are not worth having. Just as well I don't pay for them.

I think it works both ways. You loose the channels with Virgin and freeview

I'm in a similar setup like you Quickbeam, in that I've still got a Freeview TV to help compensate for the lost channels on Virgin Box. [both are in my living room].

So instead of getting and paying 'big money' for the 'Full House' it's now only 'Three-of-a-kind' ;o[

If Virgin could switch me onto the Premier Golf Channel or Racing UK as compensation then I might consider remaining with them.

I'm paying 50 quid a month for phone, broadband and minimum TV content, now even more minimum.

I don't use the landline at all, I can receive enough TV on Freeview to satisfy my minimal viewing habits, so I'm left paying way over the odds for my broadband. So if they don't resolve it soon, I'll be switching broadband supplier and getting a Freeview feed put into the living room.

There are plenty of VM customers leaving VM for sky who are offering "more discount to VM customers" so I read on the forums,I would not be surprised if negotiations are still underway as rumour suggests the BBC don't wish to lose out on over £100 million

Meanwhile have you phoned VM customer service? Try it I have and was given a £20 a month reduction to stay with VM

Virgin media have seen subscribers leaving in their thousands so I'm guessing that's the reason for renewing UKTV contract at last
