email stopped working on phone

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, the last email I got was 7.9.18 although plenty more on my laptop right up to date. A message says "cannot conect to the server" or something similar.

That usually means there's no active Internet connection. Check yours by trying to visit a webpage.

The internet is working OK and email on my other devices. I recently changed my router though pretty sure it has worked since. My guess is that it requires a password but it does not say so, nor can I find anywhere to enter one.

Apologies if I didn't make myself clear but is the Internet working on your Samsung Galaxy S4?

If it is then look at the server settings for the affected email account and let me know the names of the two servers.

Thanks, I am not sure what I am looking for. Looking at wifi I am connected to Netgear30 router if that is what you mean. The internet works on the phone but not emailany more.

I just want the names of the email servers your phone is using. Is it mentioned when you get the "cannot conect to the server" message. If not then tap Email -> Menu -> Settings -> Manage Accounts". I got those instructions from Google so I won't be able to help you further if you can't find what you're looking for.

Letting me know who your email provider is may help too.

I have just returned from holiday where I logged in to the WiFi account at the holiday home and whereas the phone displayed that I WAS connected to the internet indicating (seeing) the name of the router but I was unable to use the internet. It seemed that the internet at the time was down in the area.

Have you actually accessed the internet on the phone?
